Minerals and Treasures of the Earth, Classroom and geological exhibition, intend to enhance the educational and scholarly mission of a group of enthusiastic scientist-geologist through displaying local collections exhibition of our rich natural resources (Geosciences). The geological project focuses its target to education, cultural and tourism sectors.
The geological project enriches cultural life in our city Malaga as a target of scientific knowledge and capital asset.
The project is managing by mining geologist whose main purposes are to empower our natural resources, promoting the spreading of such geological knowledge.
Minerals and Earth`s Treasures Malaga is itself a living, tangible and interactive geological classroom where a material tour of mining history, geology and mineralogy at Malaga province is highly achieved. The local exhibition comprises mining and geological heritage colections (minerals, ores, fossils, rocks, gemstones collections and art stones) supported by significant amount of photographs and graphic display panels.
The geological project was born as a romantic idea based on naturalist and scientist from the former Malagueña Science Society, a non profit illustrated organization from late XIX century, which encouraged the principles of prosperity and social development focused to our own resources as an enhancement of progress and economical growing.
In addition to exhibitions the project provides a tribute of recognition to those historical local scientist and naturalist who engaged along their works, wealth, prosperity and knowledge with regards to mineralogical and mining research.
